Dear pastor and congregation,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

It was 15 years ago today that I was deported from Lebanon for planting the Marjaeoun Baptist Church in the Security Zone between Lebanon and Israel. Our younger son Peter caught bacteria that ruined his tonsils and poisoned his system. One powerful antibiotic after another did not do anything to help; he was admitted into the hospital while struggling for his life fighting against very high fever. The doctors and nurses stayed on top of him all night long and by dawn the fever subsided.

After four days he was released from the hospital to stay on oral administration of two powerful antibiotics for two weeks to clean up his body from infections in preparation for surgery on Friday morning the 18th at 7:30 a.m. It was a long tedious Tonsillectomy because of the scarred tonsils but it was successful and after 3 days he was sent home for recuperation. After 6 days he began bleeding from the wound and was taken back to the hospital for treatment for 3 days. Then he was released doing much better. He is doing well now. Our older son George, our daughter Kristi and Ruth and I caught the bacteria. I was bed stricken for 1 7 days. Kristi and I developed a sinus infection as well. With Peter's 3 trips to the hospital and the doctor's visits and the medications for the whole family, we had a trying month both physically and financially. We are all doing well now and thankful even grateful to the Lord Jesus that we are all back in good health now. We can't understand why the Lord allowed us to go thru such an experience. One of the consequences was that our ministry and its visitation were adversely affected.

Also from the response to our last Progress Report and from the medical expenses incurred we are no longer able to purchase a vehicle for Ruth, but we have learned to take things "as from a father's hand".

We covet your prayers for a baptismal service this summer. There are several converts that don't have the guts to take a stand for the Lord Jesus. Fragrance of Christ an odour of a sweet smell is what you are to us!
