Dear Pastor and congregation,
As I begin making plans for our return to the field for our fourth term, I begin planning to first fly back to the field alone on October 17th to prepare the residence, vehicle, schooling, and furniture for the return of Ruth and the children as soon as she goes through her naturalization process which is due between October and November of 2003. As we begin to make preparations you may ask me what are my plans? My answer is: Divinely speaking, we work under God the Father following the directions of the Son of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We do not know what the Lord Jesus Christmay have for us in store.
Humanly speaking, our plans are to:
- Go back to purchase a condo to stabilize the ministry.
- Organize the church and go into charter.
- Train a man to pastor the church.
What does the Lord Jesus have in store for us, I do not know. All we know is to plan, trust the Lord Jesus, and go! Because, when I went back to the field after my second term in Lebanon I had no idea that I was going to plant a church in Jerusalem. I did not even dream of being deported and becoming a US citizen. I could not imagine that I would be privileged to serve the Lord Jesus in Jerusalem. Even after my first term on the field I did not imagine I would be kicked out of Sidon and then go into the security zone, between Lebanon and Israel, such a forsaken part of the world, to plant a Fundamental Independent Baptist Church, which is the only born-again church there. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Great Superintendent of Missions and He had a plan for a church in the security zone. God is good. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Our asset in life is, as an old great man of God remarked to me saying: "You have a history behind you that vouches for you!" and this is our treasure in Heaven. If Heaven is not my home them Lord what will I do?
God is using us on furlough. Since our last letter we have seen 5 people saved, one person follow the Lord Jesus in believers' baptism, one person surrender to preach, one person surrender to the mission field, plus tens of Christians rededicate their lives to the Lord Jesus.
Also as of May 31st, $14,000 have come in for the Jerusalem Condo. We are grateful for those that have contributed, others who have promised, and others who need to be encouraged to do so. We challenge you to do something about it because there is a lot in store for you:
- You will be obeying the command of the Word of God in Acts 1:8.
- You will be helping us to be church planters in Jerusalem.
- You will have a blessed share in a fruit that will last for Eternity for being a partner in a church planting work in Jerusalem, the seat of God in the Millenium.
"ye shall be witnesses unto me both in JERUSALEM" (Acts 1:8)
