Dear Pastor and congregation,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We are now completing our third term on the field. The first two were in Lebanon and this third in Israel. I laboured the first term in Sidon, the second in the security zone, and the third in Jerusalem. The third one was more laborious and just as fruitful. There were thirty five souls that trusted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour on this term. There were thirty four nominal Christian converts and one Moslem lady. But the best news to report to you is that several years ago we had a baptismal service in which this Moslem convert got baptized; and that was followed by severe persecution that was a set back to our baptizing of new converts. Two years ago we started a campaign of enlisting prayer support to stir the baptismal waters again. Finally a breakthrough came in. God answered prayers, yours and ours; and it came like this: For the past year and a half our ministry has been witnessing a revival and in the past year alone we have had thirteen people saved; but on May sixth of the current year we had eight people baptized. We went up to Beth-Abra of the Jordan river and baptized eight converts. Seven adults and my own son George "The Baptist", whom I baptized first. Thank you for your prayers and praise God for answered prayers.
When it pleases God to bless, He blesses in spite of us. Not only has God blessed us this year with thirteen souls saved, nor only has he blessed us with eight converts baptized, but also the Lord Jesus has raised up a man for the ministry. This young man has a sincere desire to serve the Lord Jesus. He is nine months old in the faith and has already won three people to the Lord so far. He is one of the eight that I baptized on May the sixth. He is starting his Masters Degree in Ancient History at the Hebrew university next Fall during which time he has already begun pursuing his Masters in Divinity with the seminary of the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He will do that first by distance education and when he is done with the Hebrew university, he will in enroll full time at BBC.
I think we will have a very interesting Photo Gallery to present to you when we come back next month on furlough to report the work to you.
A sad note to mention is that my home church pastor Victor Sadaka who is a pillar of the ministry in the Middle East is battling with cancer in his spinal chord and in his lymph glands. May I please ask you to pray for him?
Thank you very much for investing in our lives and in our ministry; and may the Lord Jesus Christ richly bless and reward you individually and your families and you churches.
